On-line application process:

There is one application form for each graduate programme (including each area of the office). Please choose which programme is right for you by thoroughly reading all the information on our website before applying. On making your graduate programme selection you will be asked to complete a self-assessment checklist. The self-assessment checklist is to make sure the role you are applying for is right for you, and you are right for us. On completion of this, you will be able to go onto the application form.

If you are applying to one of our office programmes you will be asked in the application form to select which department you are applying to from a drop down box. Please ensure you select carefully. If you need help deciding, why not visit our ‘Where do I fit in?’ page.

Remember, you can only apply to ONE programme a year.

Don’t worry – you don’t have to complete your on-line application in one go. If you want to, you can save it at any stage and come back to it later. In fact, you can come back to it as many times as you want before you send it to us.

For the competency-based questions, you may find it easier to type out the answers in a Word document and then cut and paste them into the on-line application form.

All the sections with an asterisk (*) next to them are compulsory, so make sure you fill them all in.

When you have submitted your on-line application form, please click submit! You will then receive a confirmation e-mail of your submitted form.

If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to complete the behavioural talent screener. This is a questionnaire which asks for your responses to number of scenarios you may face when working at Tesco. If you are successful you will be invited to an interview.

Interviews and Assessment Centres:

Interviews for our Office programmes are normally held at our office in Hertfordshire.

Interviews for our Store and Distribution Management programme are held by telephone. Successful interviewees will be asked to complete a day work sample. The work sample is a two way process; it helps you gain a better understanding of the area you have applied to and it enables our managers to see how you work with our customers and staff.

An assessment centre is the final stage for all programmes.

Application deadlines

We have different closing dates for each of our programmes, so please check the individual programme pages for their particular closing date.

Please note – you can apply to ONE programme and you can only apply ONCE each year, so make sure you completely understand which programme you want to apply to by reading all of the relevant information on this website.
