Our Product Technology teams are responsible for ensuring that all our food, clothing and general merchandise products are safe, legal and of the right quality that customers expect.

Join us and you'll carry out benchmarking to ensure that Tesco products stay ahead of the market, monitor customer complaints and work with suppliers to reduce them. You'll also look at ways we can innovate to lead the industry best practice on product development and visit suppliers to see that they're manufacturing to our strict standards.

Our Product Technology teams are based in our Cheshunt and Welwyn Garden City offices.

What will I be doing?

Your first week will be an introduction to Tesco, familiarising yourself with your surroundings, and providing you with the information you need to get started. You'll also have the opportunity to meet with your team, including your line manager and buddy. You'll then complete a store placement, giving you a greater understanding of how decisions made in Head Office affect our stores and, ultimately, our customers.

Once back in the office, you'll be supporting your manager in carrying out various benchmarking activities, updating product technical specifications, visiting suppliers to quality check products produced and manufacturing processes, as well as helping to devise new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint and understand the practicalities of new ideas that the team wishes to implement.

Where could it take me?

After working as a Graduate Technologist and successfully completing the graduate programme, you'll work towards becoming an Assistant Technologist. From here, you can progress to become a Product Technologist and even a Technical Manager.

Tesco is expanding as a business outside of the UK and there are many exciting international opportunities for you as a Product Technologist.
