The Product Technology team are responsible for ensuring that all Tesco products are safe, legal and of the right quality that Tesco customers expect.

This is achieved through:

  1. Working closely with the Buying teams at Tesco and suppliers to ensure that new products are developed and launched on time to meet the different tastes and requirements of our customers.
  2. Visiting suppliers to ensure that they are manufacturing Tesco products to our strict manufacturing standards.

Our Product Technology teams are based in both our Cheshunt and Welwyn Garden City offices.

What will I be doing?

After spending a couple of weeks in the office getting to know you team and your surroundings, you will spend some time in store getting to grips with the foundations of our business. Your store placement will also give you a great understanding of how decisions made in head office affect our stores and ultimately our customers.

Once back from store you will work within the Technical team to:

  • Carry out benchmarks to ensure that tesoc products are better than the rest of the market
  • Monitor customer complaints and work with suppliers to reduce them
  • Devise new ideas to help reduce our carbon footprint and understand the practicalities of new plans and ideas that the team wish to implement
