As soon as you start your Graduate Programme, we'll be making sure you're supported and developing the skills you need for your area of business. Your development will come from a mix of training and experience. You'll take early responsibility and use your initiative to improve our business right from the start. Your first work experience at Tesco could involve working with board members, managing an area of a store, leading a team to a real business advantage, or dealing with the press.

Whatever you end up doing, you'll have the full support of colleagues and managers. In fact, our line managers are measured on their ability to develop our people. Your manager will expect you to come up with original ideas, develop your creative side and go the extra mile. It makes for an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere. One where you can take risks – and learn from your mistakes.

You'll also have the support of a buddy for the whole year – someone who has recently completed the programme. And you'll be mentored by a director too, to help you get where you're going and build a network of people.
