Joined Tesco in 2009
I was made Assistant Merchandise Planner in January after just a year and three months at Tesco. When my manager took maternity leave, I was trusted to run the Ladies Nightwear department (which took £37m last year) until a replacement was found, which took two months. It just goes to show that at Tesco you have real responsibility right from the start.
I've had two new members join the team: a new grad and a Merchandise Manager. Helping the new graduate has been really rewarding. It's good to give something back by training someone who's at the same point in their career that I was when I came to Tesco.
Having a full team has freed me up to get involved in projects outside of my day-to-day role. At the moment, I'm involved in a cross-function project, which is focused on finding quick fixes to the way we work in the clothing business.
