I applied to Tesco because they are regarded as a best practice company in my area of interest, but also because they are a leading company in the industry. When I started researching Tesco further, I realised how important the company values are. After that it was an easy decision to make.

The interview and assessment process was nerve-wracking, as any is. However, my enthusiasm, interest in retail and Tesco were received well by the assessors and the day was a thorough test of all skills, attributes and weaknesses. I met some great people and although a rigorous process, it was a really positive experience.

After being accepted, I went through the full programme of Tesco's in-house management and leadership training courses. This was really valuable throughout the graduate scheme because it gave me insight into Tesco's culture. Importantly, I find all the skills I learned are applicable and transferable to my job now and my future career with Tesco.

Throughout my time with Tesco, I have been fully supported with planning my future career and managing how I can reach my personal goals. I definitely see my career with Tesco and have the aim of becoming a Senior Manager within the next couple of years.
