When I went to study furniture design, I had no idea I had the potential to work for Tesco. Retail to me is an ever-changing industry; knowing what the customer wants before they do is what is most exciting about it. In Property, we have the opportunity to shape the customer experience through the way we build the store. That involves how it looks from the outside as well as the internal layout, colours and even the lighting and heating.

A highlight of my training has been designing and implementing a new modular building system to revolutionise the way we build stores. I had the opportunity to present the proposal to directors. They were impressed with the proposal and backed the project, which was very rewarding.

Tesco is a friendly, vibrant, enthusiastic and driven workplace. People who do well here bring their personality to work. My advice? I would recommend you let your own style and personality shine through your application. That's what makes you different from your peers.
