Joined Tesco in 2008
I joined Tesco after a Masters in Physics at Imperial College London. Physics allowed me to explore my love of numbers and problem solving – a challenge that I still get to experience on the Finance Programme. Retail allows you to give context to the numbers. When you walk into a Tesco store, you see your work in action – rare in many finance roles. There are a variety of graduate programmes at Tesco, but we're encouraged to get involved in all aspects of the business.
Through the Finance Programme, Tesco has sponsored me through my CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification. And I've just been promoted to Business Analyst in Stores Ordering Finance. I work with Operational teams around the business, from Commercial Buyers to Store Managers and I manage a line worth £500m. Which means I get to put everything I've learned so far into practice – and, of course, I'm always learning something new too.
