I joined Tesco because I was attracted by the training, support and benefits they offer employees. It was also the attraction of joining a global, friendly, supportive and focused organisation.

The training and development was excellent - the programme was very structured with four modules. Being able to work in four different stores and with different teams has been very valuable. Having 100% mobility and being willing to move when the right opportunity has come along has definitely been in my favour.

My job involves working with my team, delivering our customer promises, and liaising with all levels and departments within the business. So I rely on my communication, planning and organisational skills, as well as my ability to review and adapt quickly to situations. I need to use my team to help deliver results quickly, so I make sure that I motivate and listen to them.

One of the key things about my role is that no day is the same as another. It's a very friendly, supportive and fast paced environment, and every day provides different challenges. I'm always very busy - and, of course, there are never enough hours in the day. But every day is great fun, challenging and rewarding. The best thing about my job is the team of people I work with. They genuinely care about delivering the best for our customers.

So giving our customers the best shopping experience possible is my aim. By building a good rapport with local customers, providing the best for my staff, always trying to deliver 110% and ensuring all routines are carried out properly, I'm doing just that. And that's what it's all about as a Store Director.
