The buying and merchandising teams in our General Merchandise and Food business areas put the customer at the heart of everything we do. So which role is right for you?
Using a combination of product knowledge, in-depth customer insight and previous sales results, our buyers source, negotiate and manage our range of products to ensure we continue to give our customers what they want – at great prices. Developing relationships and negotiating with suppliers is an essential part of the role, as is getting to know your customers and products inside out.
Merchandisers work closely with the buying teams, sourcing hubs and suppliers around the world to determine the price, quantity and availability of products. They analyse sales data and manage budgets and targets to make sure we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time. To get the products from our factories to our distribution centres and then out to our stores you'll need to be able to work well with lots of data, meet deadlines and focus on the details.
We need people who have the potential to become experts within their field, so you'll need to show you have a great understanding of our business, our customers and our market.
