In a company that's as focused on customers as we are, having the right teams in place couldn't be more important. Every single person who works in our stores helps us to give our customers a positive shopping experience. And everyone who works behind the scenes has just as crucial a role to play in making sure we're known for offering great products, great value and great service across every channel and platform. Which is why our Personnel teams are so pivotal.
Our teams work to ensure managers across the business have world-class skills and tools to meet the needs of our people – and ultimately our customers. And when you have over 530,000 people around the world, there's plenty of scope for influencing the business.
You'll have the opportunity to work on specialist projects in areas such as Learning and Development, Reward, or Resourcing. You'll also gain wider experience by joining the Personnel Operations of a specific business area.
As well as spending some time in store at the start of the programme, you'll gain an insight into the Personnel Department. You'll see how our people, policies and procedures work on a daily basis. Naturally, we'll make sure that you get relevant training in specific skills, like delivering or shaping personnel policy or writing training and development plans, as well as leadership behaviours. We'll also help you to develop more general skills, like communication, decision-making and influencing.
At the end of the two year programme, you'll have the skills you need to become a manager in either a specialist or operational Personnel role. In five years, you could be leading major projects, managing your own personnel team, or running an international development programme.
